Switch to the new CMS before June 1

On September 1, 2024, we introduced our renewed CMS system (CMS 2.0), developed with a strong focus on usability, flexibility, and modern technology. Since its launch, many users have already made the switch, but we also see that a number of users are still working with the outdated CMS version 1.0.

We understand that when your current system is still functioning, switching to something new may bring some uncertainty. Familiar functionalities, buttons, and settings may be located differently or work in a different way than you are used to, which may initially affect your daily workflow and efficiency. Although this barrier is understandable, it also means that the benefits of a more modern, future-proof, and user-friendly CMS remain unused. Combined with the upcoming phase-out of CMS 1.0, it is therefore a missed opportunity to postpone this necessary transition any longer.

To continue investing in innovation, usability, and new functionalities, we have decided to fully focus on CMS 2.0. As of June 1, we will stop the development and support of CMS 1.0.

Since the launch of CMS 2.0, over a year and a half ago, we have made significant progress in its further development. A dedicated CMS team, consisting of consultants and developers, has worked intensively on optimizing and expanding the system. This has resulted in:

Key new features:

Pending Changes

The ‘Pending Changes’ functionality is one of the most important new features in CMS 2.0. It allows you to edit and review your pages without changes being immediately visible in the live environment. When saving your changes, they are automatically stored as a draft. You can publish them separately, immediately or at a later time.

Improved ‘What You See Is What You Get’ Editor

With reduced use of toolbars and improved UI elements for settings, the editor has become much more user-friendly. In addition, real-time processing ensures that your changes are instantly visible on the page (as a draft, not live).

Navigator

The Navigator displays a clear structure of your page and all its components. You can assign specific names to components and easily reposition them using the drag & drop functionality.

Component management and templates

To simplify page layout, a clear overview of all available standard components is provided, including descriptions and use cases. You can also save pages or sections as templates for easy reuse. These templates are automatically added to your component overview.

History

Using the built-in ‘CTRL+Z’ shortcut, you can undo your most recent changes while editing content. Additionally, all changes are stored and can be reviewed or restored via the history function, located on the left-hand side in the aside menu.

The StarterKit theme gives your current FloriShop a modern visual upgrade, without requiring technical adjustments or changes to your workflow.

How to switch to CMS 2.0

Switching to CMS 2.0 is simple and free of charge:

To ensure that version 2.0 is visible in your management dashboard, you must first perform an update.
Afterwards, as an administrator, you can navigate to the webshop settings via ‘Configuration’.
Using the CMSVERSION parameter, select the version ‘CMS 2.0’.
The CMS 2.0 environment will then be activated automatically.
