Final Outbound Check App live, developed in co-creation
Last year, we introduced a new approach to our app development: co-creation. The Final Outbound Check App was the first project in which this approach was applied. In this article, Dirk van de Water of Flowex B.V. shares his positive experience with both the app and the co-creation process.
Final Outbound Check App
The Final Outbound Check App makes monitoring outbound orders easier and more efficient. By scanning products, the app immediately shows the status of a shipment: ready and complete. During the final check, you can also add photos, helping to prevent any misunderstandings. Thanks to real-time information, you can better align your (administrative) processes, reduce the risk of having to make corrections afterwards, and be assured that what is invoiced has actually been shipped.

Co-creation with our users
The Final Outbound Check App is the first app to be developed in co-creation—from brainstorming to go-live—with a dedicated group of users. The goal of this collaborative approach is clear: to build an intuitive and user-friendly app that perfectly fits daily practice and the needs of a broad group of users.

Flowex B.V. was one of the actively involved users. In an interview, we asked them about their experiences with both the development process and the final result.

For Flowex, the development of the Final Outbound Check App was an important step in structurally improving the outbound process. “Previously, we didn’t really use a final check,” says Dirk van de Water, responsible for automation at Flowex. “There were solutions for final checks, but they didn’t fit well with our processes or were too cumbersome, so they simply weren’t used on the shop floor. So when the opportunity arose to participate in the development of a new solution, we were eager to join!”
From the initial phase through to launch, Flowex—together with other interested users—was involved in every step of the development. “They listened carefully, with multiple customers and use cases at the same time. That led to new insights and a fresh perspective. The input from other companies and the direct presence of a developer were also very valuable.”
The co-creation process resulted in an app that, according to Flowex, perfectly fits daily practice. Features such as taking photos of scanned carts and directly generating a CMR/packing list overview were essential for them—a combination that was missing in previous solutions. “The app is very clear, fast, and extremely user-friendly. Everyone on the shop floor can work with it.”
The app has since provided more overview and reduced errors. “You can now actually see where things go wrong, such as incorrectly placed carts or duplicate stickers, and you can address that immediately.” Flowex looks back positively on the co-creation process: “This way of developing really works very well. You build something together that truly fits practice. I would approach all projects this way!”
Florisoft App Store
In addition to the Final Outbound Check App, (many) more applications have been developed and are in development. Our dedicated development team is working hard to build our desired ‘App Store.’
